Kids will be thrilled by the 40-foot volcano that erupts with sound and steam every 20 minutes. Tropical landscaping, waterfalls, and soothing Hawaiian music keep the atmosphere engaging yet relaxing. The course is challenging enough for older kids and adults but accessible for younger players, making it a family favorite. On-site batting cages, a picnic area, a Subway, and an ice cream shop provide extra fun. Hawaiian Rumble also hosts the U.S. Pro Mini Golf Masters, which adds a cool factor for kids.

Do you take your family on vacation during July 4th to North Myrtle Beach? For the majority of the merchants in NMB, this week is likely the biggest one yet. Some businesses around the US take that week off and require their staff to take a vacation during that time. The summer prime season is currently in full swing. That week, there is a lot of demand for fantastic beach vacation homes. Since July 4th in 2026 falls on a Saturday, you would need to start your vacation week on Saturday, July 4th, if you wanted to attend the fireworks in NMB. Many families have already reserved that week for their vacation, as far as we know. Call us right away if you’re still considering going to the beach for the Fourth of July.  The best homes and condos may already be taken that week.

Fireworks in Cherry Grove

Each year, fireworks are set off from the Cherry Grove Pier. Oceanfront homes and resort condos in Cherry Grove put you right in front of the action. You can expect the show to begin around 9:30 pm and go on for about 30 minutes. If you are playing in the sand and water that day, be ready to stay for one of the best fireworks shows in the Grand Strand. If you are staying with us, please share some pictures with us on our Grand Strand Vacations facebook page or send them to us via email. Updates are usually posted on the City of North Myrtle Beach Website

It is important that you are aware that the use of personal fireworks within the city limits of North Myrtle Beach is against the law. We ask that you stay safe and enjoy the free show that is being put on by the city at the Cherry Grove Pier.

Salute from the Shore

The Salute from the Shore is an event that takes place on July 4th and is one of the highlights of the day. People visiting the state as well as those who live there assemble on the sand each year at the same time to watch airplanes fly over the coast of South Carolina. If you are staying in the Cherry Grove area, you should make it a point to be in the vicinity of the beach no later than one in the afternoon. The flyover schedule may be seen on their Facebook page under the name SalutefromtheShore, and additional information can be found on their website under the same name, Salute from the Shore.

As a North Myrtle Beach resident who’s lived here for years, I can tell you firsthand why this coastal gem is the ultimate destination for a family-friendly vacation. With nine miles of wide, sandy beaches perfect for kids, safe swimming areas, and attractions like the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier and Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach has everything you need for a stress-free getaway. From family-oriented accommodations with kid-centric amenities to budget-friendly activities and dining spots that keep everyone happy, this town is a haven for families seeking a memorable coastal escape. Let me share why North Myrtle Beach should be your next vacation spot.

Visit Our Beach

Our beaches are the heart of North Myrtle Beach’s charm. Stretching across nine miles, these wide, sandy shores offer plenty of space for kids to build sandcastles, fly kites, or splash in the gentle waves. Compared to busier coastal spots, our beaches have a relaxed vibe, with lifeguard-monitored safe swimming areas during peak seasons, giving parents peace of mind. They’re clean, well-maintained, and equipped with convenient amenities like public restrooms and easy beach access points. Whether your family loves boogie boarding or just lounging under an umbrella, these shores are a playground for all ages. As a local, I love watching families create memories here, and I know you will too.

Beyond the beach, North Myrtle Beach is packed with attractions that keep kids entertained and parents relaxed. The Cherry Grove Fishing Pier is a favorite spot, offering stunning ocean views and a chance for kids to try fishing. With affordable rod rentals and a small arcade, it’s perfect for a fun family afternoon. Barefoot Landing, our waterfront shopping and entertainment hub, is another must-visit. Kids love attractions like the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station, where they can see live animals up close, while parents enjoy the laid-back vibe at spots like Crooked Hammock Brewery, complete with lawn games. These places blend adventure and relaxation, ensuring everyone finds something to love.

Stay in North Myrtle Beach

When it comes to accommodations, North Myrtle Beach knows how to cater to families. Oceanfront condos and resorts, like the Laguna Keyes or A Summer Place, offer spacious suites with full kitchens—ideal for whipping up quick meals for picky eaters. Many properties feature kid-centric amenities like lazy rivers and pools that keep children entertained for hours. As a resident, I’ve seen how these resorts make family vacations effortless, and I suggest booking early for summer to snag the best spots with pools.

North Myrtle Beach is also full of budget-friendly activities that deliver big on fun. The Myrtle Beach Fishing Company’s Summer Fishing Camp is a local gem, teaching kids ages 6-16 fishing basics like casting and knot-tying for a reasonable fee. Held weekly in the summer, it’s a great way for kids to learn a new skill while parents relax. For free or low-cost fun, head to McLean Park for family movie nights or its playground, perfect for burning off energy. The Heritage Shores Nature Preserve, with its easy trails and wildlife sightings, adds an educational twist to your trip. These activities are easy on the wallet but create memories that last a lifetime.

Restaurants and Dining

Dining here is another family-friendly win, with restaurants offering kid-friendly menus and casual vibes. Hoskins Restaurant, a local staple, serves up affordable seafood and burgers with a kids’ menu featuring classics like chicken tenders and mac-and-cheese. Hamburger Joe’s is a go-to for its laid-back atmosphere, coloring placemats, and budget-friendly prices that families love. At Barefoot Landing, Lulu’s offers waterfront views, kid-approved dishes, and live music that parents enjoy. As a local, I recommend hitting these spots during happy hour or early-bird specials to save even more.

Living in North Myrtle Beach, I’ve seen how our uncrowded beaches, diverse attractions, and welcoming accommodations make it a family paradise. To make the most of your trip, book three to six months in advance for peak summer dates to lock in the best deals on condos and activities. Many resorts offer multi-night discounts or packages with attraction tickets, which can be tailored to your family’s needs. Whether it’s your first beach vacation or a yearly tradition, North Myrtle Beach delivers a stress-free experience that leaves everyone smiling.
