The SOS Mid-Winter Break is a cherished event held annually in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, organized by the Society of Stranders (SOS). Scheduled for January 14-17, 2027, this vibrant weekend is a celebration of shag dancing, beach music, and coastal camaraderie, offering a perfect escape from the winter chill. Unlike the larger SOS Spring Safari and Fall Migration, the Mid-Winter Break is a shorter, more intimate gathering that still packs a punch with non-stop dancing, workshops, and socializing. Important: A current SOS membership card is required for entry into SOS lounges. Secure yours through your local shag club rep or pick one up when you arrive at the beach.
